SCSCS Adds More Dates
to Race Schedule
Hickory, NC – More dates
have been added to the Super Cup Stock Car Series (SCSCS) 2009 schedule. Those dates include a trip to Ohio, a return to an
old friend. Lonesome Pine Speedway in Coeburn, VA
hosted an SCSCS race in 2008 and will add one more to their schedule as the track will host two SCSCS races in 2009. The raceway
will host a race on Saturday, May 30 and the Series will return to the track for A&G Coal Night on Saturday, August 8, 2009. The series will head North in May as the series will make its first
ever visit to the state of Ohio. The Columbus Speedway will host the SCSCS May 16, 2009. The well-known track located in central
Ohio gives the second-year series its first presence in the state for the season and will offer fans a chance to see the Super
Cup cars for the first time.
“On behalf of the board of
directors I want to thank Harold and his entire staff at Lonesome Pine Raceway for welcoming us back to their track,”
said Mart Nesbitt. “We are very excited about our 2009 schedule and Lonesome Pine is definitely one track we wanted
to get on our schedule this year. I also want to thank Jeff Knuckles and his family from Columbus Speedway for giving us an
opportunity to bring our series to Columbus. They always put on a great show and look forward to being there in May.” The three races almost complete the series 10 race schedule.
Other tracks that the SCSCS will take to in 2009 include Newport Speedway in Newport, TN and Shenandoah Speedway in Shenandoah,
VA.
The series has plans to announce
more race dates next week. SCR Matthew Blaylock
