Impressive/Unimpressive - Richmond: The Chase Is On

September 8, 2008

Joe Jacobs - SCR

Impressive:

Jimmie Johnson: It was not total domination but its just about time for the domination to begin. I think the fall will be Jimmie Johnson returns to glory.

David Reutimann: Led a bunch of laps and was not shabby, a better pit crew and we may have seen a first time winner Sunday.

Kyle Busch: Yeah I’m sure the Jr. Nation is happy because Dale Earnhardt Jr. finally caught up to him to crash him. But getting crashed and going a lap down, then coming back to finish 15th is not to bad. Not sure if he can finish off the season and knock Johnson off but its going to be fun to watch.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: I was impressed that Earnhardt actually did not do the sportsman thing for a change and knocked someone out of the race on purpose. Now you could be lucky the chase starts next week and points count even more, but I am sure Busch will still get his revenge.

East Carolina Football: Well I am alumni of ECU and I have not had much to cheer about over the last few years but two weeks ago they upset then number 17 VT Hokies then Saturday they upset then #8 WVU Mountaineers. My pirates are ranked for the first time since 1999. So since they are #14, GO PIRATES!!!!!!!!!!

Unimpressive:

Tony Stewart: A great race was nullified when you trashed the pit crew. I know you are leaving Joe Gibbs Racing but you better enjoy good runs because next year looks like it may be a long one.

Elliott Sadler: Well once again he was an accident waiting to happen. Tony Stewart was right; any one near you is at fault when you crash them out of the race.

Chip Ganassi: You kept Juan Pablo but let Dario Franchitti go. Now personally Dario is nice, and probably can get fans and more sponsors. Dario did not have a fair chance as he was in sub-par equipment I don’t think he could have been a champion but he could win some races and contend from time-to-time.

Ray Evernham: He was a great crew chief, one of the best of all time, but as a owner or co-owner he is not very good. He rehired Elliott Sadler (I won’t go in to that at this time) and let Patrick Carpentier become a free agent, and now Carpentier will probably go without a ride. Carpentier is a good driver, not a problem like Sadler. But you know more than I do…
