I have everything from
ticket stubs to life-sized cardboard stand-ups. I have die-casts of all the current drivers as well as many of the past stars
of the sport. I have inflatable cars, posters, license tags, car haulers, Christmas ornaments, puzzles, soft drink and beer
cans and bottles, playing cards, stationary sets, calendars, desk sets, telephones, NASCAR day pins from each year, cereal
boxes, model cars, trading cards, teddy bears, glasses, cups, mugs, lunch boxes, pens, my own photos, numerous autographs,
caps, board games, flags, pennants and on and on and on. If it has anything to do with NASCAR, I probably have at least one.
Since 2001, when I decided
that Dale Earnhardt Jr. would be “my driver”, I started really concentrating on items pertaining to both Jr. and
Dale Earnhardt Sr. By this point, the collection was already spreading outside my racing room and into other parts of my house.
As soon as Dale Jr. made his
announcement and presented his new cars, I had to start planning for all the new items that I knew would be added to my collection.
For friends and family that had me on their Christmas gift list, this made their shopping much easier. They knew that I would
need all the new 88 merchandise that was quickly flooding the market.
