Premiere Sports Travel Bristol Motor Speedway
Otherwise known as Thunder Valley, the Bristol Motor Speedway has been voted the most popular track by NASCAR fans for the longest time
now. The 0.533-mile concrete oval of the Bristol Motor Speedway is famous for its short track slugfesting and crash filled
events.
The straight-aways are 650 feet long with 16 degrees
of banking. The tight corners of the Bristol Motor Speedway are banked at 36 degrees and is considered to be the "World's
Fastest Half Mile."
The Bristol Motor Speedway has completed a number
of great finishes. In August of 1999, Terry Labonte was spun out on the last lap by Dale Earnhardt. That ultimately gave Earnhardt
his ninth and last Bristol Motor Speedway win in dramatic fashion. Jeff Gordon also collected his fifth Bristol Motor Speedway
victory in August of 2002. It just so happened that Gordon would move Rusty Wallace aside to take the win with just a handful
of laps remaining in the event that year.
Nestled in the eastern Tennessee Mountains, the
Bristol Motor Speedway will host two Nextel Cup and Busch Series events for 2006. The Hooters Pro Cup and the Craftsman Truck
Series will make one stop each during the 2006 schedule. Bristol is only 110 miles northeast of Knoxville, Tennessee and 83
miles south of Asheville, North Carolina. The Bristol Motor Speedway can seat over 160,000 fans per event, thus making it……one
unique race track.
