Agnew Victorious at SoBo

Jeff Agnew pulled away from Benny Gordon on way to winning the Miller Lite 250 at the South Boston Speedway in South Boston, VA Saturday night. Gordon won the race by 1.266 seconds. Gordon finished second followed by Gary St. Amant in third. Rounding out the top five were Derek Kale in fourth and Matt Carter in fifth.

 

Leading the second five home Saturday night included Jody Lavender in sixth, Jeff Fultz in seventh, AJ Frank eighth, Sam Fullone ninth and Shane Wallace in 10th. SCR

Kvapil Wins Guitar at Nashville

Travis Kvapil won his eighth career Craftsman Truck Series race Saturday evening at the Nashville Superspeedway. Kvapil pulled away from Ron Hornaday after a late restart and went on to take the checkered flag. Hornaday came home second followed by the truck that dominated early Mike Skinner in third. David Starr finished fourth and Todd Bodine was the final driver in the top five.

 

Coming home sixth was Rick Crawford he was followed by Jon Wood, Ted Musgrave, Erik Darnell and Joey Clanton in tenth. SCR

Harvick Takes Win at The Glen

Kevin Harvick followed his win up in Montreal last weekend by winning his second road course in a row Saturday at Watkins Glen. Harvick held on and for the win crossing the line in front of his Richard Childress Racing (RCR) teammate Jeff Burton who finished second. Kurt Busch was able to finish third followed by Paul Menard and rookie Brad Coleman.

 

Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Casey Mears, Ryan Newman and Andy Lally finished in positions six through 10. SCR

Clements Gets Win No. 1 at Nashville

Lebanon, TN - As Bryan Clauson and Frank Kimmel battled for second Jeremy Clements pulled away on way to his first career win in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. With the win Clements was the 12 different winner in 14 events in 2007. Clauson held off Kimmel to finish second as Kimmel finished third. Cale Gale finished fourth and Brian Keselowski, who is feeling in for the injured Bobby Gerhart finished fifth.

 

Erin Crocker led the charge of the second five across the line coming home sixth. Seventh through 10th went to Dexter Bean, Michael Annett, Blake Feese and Robb Brent. Only 10 cars finished the race on the lead lap.

 

Michael McDowell who came into the race second in points lost and engine in the closing laps and finished 19th. SCR

2008 DIRT Sprint Schedule Released
 
DIRT Motorsports WoO Sprint Series News
 

The World of Outlaws (WoO) released its 2008 tentative schedule on Friday. It includes new dates at such tracks as the Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA, Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, WY and the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.

 

In addition to the new tracks the series will also return to such tracks as the Eldora Speedway, the Knoxville Raceway and the Williams Grove Speedway to name a few.

 

The season will start February 8, 2008 at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL and end November 1, 2008 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway. SCR
